At Seniors Helping Seniors® Southern Tier NY, we have a passion for meeting the needs of seniors in a way that provides both dignity and a sense of camaraderie. Our owner(s) Bob Raj firmly believe we can do that through serving seniors in our community, which includes: Steuben, Chemung, Tioga, and surrounding areas.
Bob and Cynthia Raj came to this work inspired by personal caregiving experiences that moved them to want to provide compassionate, loving care to the seniors in their community. “We were fortunate to have my father live with us for 12 years,” shared Bob. “Toward the end of his life he needed full-time care. As his primary caregivers, we gained immense insight into his thinking and the needs of seniors as they grow older. Facing these challenges and blessings together inspired us to help others."
Seniors Helping Seniors in-home care matches seniors who want to help with seniors who need the help. This peer-to-peer assistance allows seniors in need to receive care from someone whom they can trust and relate. At the same time, seniors who want to help are able to remain active in their community and often form strong relationship with the seniors they are caring for. The senior care providers who work with Bob and Cynthia offer services that demonstrate how they care about others and want to support their peers in the best way they can. The providers offer many in-home care services including: Companionship Overnight stays Light housekeeping Mobility Assistance Meal preparation Respite Care Grocery shopping House Maintenance Gardening and landscaping Small Repairs Doctor appointments Transportation assistance “We recognize that the quality of a person’s day is often impacted by the attitude, attention, and devotion of the caregivers, especially when the senior is home bound,” said Cynthia. “Seniors Helping Seniors home care offers more than a service of housekeeping or transportation. We complete our services with genuine interest, concern, and the ongoing companionship of a caring friend lending a hand.”
